Writing is Healing

“Writing is healing” is a simple statement but packed with power.

It wasn’t until I finished writing my fifth novel that I realized all the books I had written healed specific emotions within me. I had an “aha” moment when I discovered my thoughts about prior situations were no longer haunting me. I was removed from the impact they once had on me.

I pinpointed the experiences and their effects—heartbreak, loss, grief, anger, frustration, and sadness. After writing my books, these emotions no longer gripped me. The stories I wrote were not my experiences, yet writing them freed me.

Recognizing this allowed me to move forward without seeking publication. Knowing the manuscripts served their purpose of healing in my life is more than enough.

Any story you write is powerful, whether the public reads it or not. Write it for you.
